[Name] Katina
[Date of capture] Dec.75
[Currently resides] SeaWorld Florida
[Previously held at] MarineLand Canada, SeaWorld Ohio, SeaWorld California
[Parents] Unknown
[Offspring] Kalina*, Katerina*, Taku*, Unna*, Ikaika, Nalani, Makaio
Katina was captured in Iceland alongside Betty* and an unnamed male*. She was moved to Marineland Canada but only lived there for 8 months. Katina was then moved to SeaWorld where she was sent between the California and Ohio parks, depending on season. She moved to SeaWorld Florida, and gave birth to Kalina*, the first successful orca born in captivity. Katina is a very good mother, but developed an unhealthy attachment to her son Taku*. Katina's sixth pregnancy was fathered by her son Taku*, making Nalani a product of incest. Despite this, Nalani appears to be healthy. She was considered to be the dominant female at the Florida park, however Katina gained a tear at the base of her dorsal, as a result of an altercation between her and Trua in 2018. As a result the park separated the orcas into two groups (Katina, Nalani and Makaio; Kayla, Trua and Malia).
