Kalia was born at SeaWorld California in December 2004. She was the parks "baby" for many years, until Kasatka* gave birth to her half-brother, Makani, in February 2013. Kalia showed great advancement in learning at a young age, and was an interactive youngster who loved playing with her older half-brother Nakai and Sumar*.
SeaWorld impregnated Kalia, via Ulises' semen, at a young age, which caused public outcry. She gave birth to a daughter on the 2nd December 2014, before Kalia's 10th birthday. Kalia had support from her mother and brother, Nakai, and nurtured Amaya well, despite her young age.
