Ulises was captured in Iceland and stayed at Saedyrasafnid for over a year. He moved to his first Spanish home in December 1981 - Rioleon Safari. He lived there for 2 years, before being move to Barcelona Zoo. At Barcelona Zoo he lived in a small circular tank with only dolphins for company. Ulises suffered aggression problems due to his growing size and small pool. He was moved to SeaWorld California where he calmed down. He has fathered Moana, in Marineland France, and Amaya both via artificial insemination.
