Takara was born at SeaWorld California. She was a playful youngster who loved attention. At the age of 10 she gave birth to her first daughter, Kohana, who was born via artificial insemination. Despite the unnatural form of conception, Takara became a fantastic mother, probably due to the close relationship she shared with her own mother, Kasatka*. In 2004, Takara and Kohana were moved to SeaWorld Florida. Takara got along with the other whales, and gave birth to a son in 2005. After four years in Florida, she was moved to Texas and managed to assert herself as dominant female, largely due to being raised by a dominant ranking mother. At Texas, Takara has given birth to two daughters, Sakari, Kamea and Kyara*, however Kyara* did not survive past a few months.
