Kohana was the second calf to be conceived via artificial insemination. She was very close to her California family, which included her grandmother Kasatka*, and uncle Nakai. Kohana and her mother Takara were transferred to SeaWorld Florida in April 2004. At SeaWorld Florida she was close to Skyla and played the role of auntie during her half-brother, Trua's birth. In 2006 Skyla and Kohana were moved to  Loro Parque to live with Tekoa and Keto. At the park, she was impregnated at a young age by Keto, and gave birth to a little male named Adan in 2010. Unfortunately she rejected him, due to her inexperience, and he was hand-reared. She gave birth to a second calf, Vicky*, who like her brother, was also rejected. Vicky* sadly passed away after 10 months of life. As an adult, Kohana has asserted herself as the dominant female at Loro Parque.
