Valentin was Freya*'s only successful pregnancy. During their lives, the mother and son were very close. When waterworks were part of shows, Valentin was an active participant, allowing trainers to work with him in the water. Valentin sired one calf in his live, Keijo, with his half-sister, Wikie, making the calf a product of inbreeding. In October 2015, the South of France was hit by bad flooding, which destroyed much of the park, and the damaged the tank's water system. It is likely that this was the cause of Valentin's death, who passed away shortly after.
